The Podcass 016: Double Will Smith, NFL Week 7, and the Nats!

We’ve been sports-heavy on The Podcass this week. Hey, October is packed with playoff baseball, college football and NFL, along with the beginnings of the NHL and NBA seasons. So I guess that’s reflected here.

But we break up that sports talk with a review of Will Smith’s double-take in Gemini Man (23:38). And it’s a week with two segments from WISE Sports Radio on our Friday show. First, we preview the big storylines going into Week 7 on the NFL schedule, including Jalen Ramsey getting traded to the Los Angeles Rams (04:37). Then, we close out with baseball talk, focusing on the amazing, improbable run of the Washington Nationals and the Yankees-Astros ALCS (33:59).

The Podcass 015: Lions suffer larceny at Lambeau

Glad The Podcass is on a Tuesday-Friday schedule, so we could have some near-instant response to the Detroit Lions’ 23-22 loss to the Green Bay Packers on Monday Night Football. What a debacle, with the referees making several terrible calls that cost the Lions a chance to win at Lambeau Field and move near the top of the NFC standings.

We break down and complain about those terrible calls, two in particular against Detroit’s Trey Flowers (0:32). Then, our WISE Sports Radio baseball segment covers big wins by the Houston Astros and Washington Nationals in the MLB playoffs over the weekend (16:21). Did you miss those amid all the football action?

The Podcass 014: Gym rants, Braves and Dodgers collapse, Prodigal Son and Emergence talk

Take some Podcass with you for the weekend!

First, grievances fuel motivation at the gym (01:29). From WISE Sports Radio, we cover the playoff collapses of the Atlanta Braves and Los Angeles Dodgers, and the Philadelphia Phillies firing manager Gabe Kapler. On the football side, we dig into the disastrous Washington Redskins and their dismissal of coach Jay Gruden, along with other NFL Week 6 storylines (07:33). And finally some TV talk on Fox’s Prodigal Son and ABC’s Emergence (31:32).

The Podcass 013: More Joker talk, MLB postseason, and Sports Illustrated’s slide

We reviewed Joker on the last Podcass, but the movie set an October box office in finishing No. 1 at the box office over the weekend. And there are soooo many reactions and think-pieces to it that we felt the need to talk some more about it.

After the Joker talk (01:10), we have some baseball talk from WISE Sports Radio (11:42), including the Chicago Cubs’ managerial search. Then the show wraps up with thoughts on what’s happened to Sports Illustrated (25:20).

The Podcass 012: Everybody smile! It’s Joker time!

Put on a happy face! A new Podcass!

Joker is the big movie release of the weekend and drawing a lot of buzz, so we have a review for you (2:11). Then baseball and football radio segments from WISE Sports Radio. Up first is a preview of the 2019 MLB postseason (15:05), followed by a look at Week 5 in the NFL (27:33).

The Podcass 011: Lions are good, Zellweger is great, and Spidey’s back

This is the week when we get The Podcass on the schedule I’ve intended. Hopefully, we’ll have shows every Tuesday and Friday from here on out.

First, we get a little geeky, talking about Sony and Marvel realizing they’re better together with Spider-Man (03:06). Then, how about those Detroit Lions, hanging with the Kansas City Chiefs and almost beating them (07:45)? We also review Renee Zellweger in Judy (13:44) before jumping into my radio segments. I appeared on Edmonton’s TSN 1260 to preview the MLB postseason (18:27) and dug into the Cubs-Joe Maddon split and the Angels firing manager Brad Ausmus on Asheville’s WISE Sports Radio (26:36).

The Podcass 010: Brad Pitt in Space, Cam Newton’s foot, and Rambo in Mexico

Here’s some Podcass for the weekend! (We should’ve gotten it posted before the weekend. Still a work in progress, folks. Eventually, I’ll stop saying that.)

Catching up on some movies, we review Ad Astra (01:51) and Rambo: Last Blood (29:07). In between is my WISE Sports Radio NFL segment (10:24) and a couple of corrections from the last episode (37:06).

The Podcass 009: Not Podfade Away

Folks, we might be back on schedule. (Well, almost. I’d like The Podcass to post on Tuesdays and Fridays. We’re almost there.)

We break out of “podfade,” recapping our summer absence (3:31), the shutdown of the Amusement Park Podcast (6:55), and a brief fling with an NFL writing gig (15:25). Also, my radio baseball segment (21:00), catching up on what we would’ve talked about over the past four months (30:32), and a handful of sad goodbyes (32:40). Thank you for listening! The Podcass 008: Breaking the seal

No, this is not a glitch. The Podcass is back! It’s been a long, long time since we’ve played podcast with you, and we missed you. We hope you missed us! But we’ve finally unpacked the microphone, started talking into it and recording.

To break the seal after a long time on the shelf, I’m sharing my segments from the past week on Asheville’s WISE Sports Radio with Pat Ryan.

The Podcass 007: Endgame’s endings, Def Leppard fame, and Miguel Cabrera complaints

After a one-week hiccup, it’s a catch-up Podcass!

Getting back on track, we clean up on topics from the previous week including Avengers: Endgame and its many endings for beloved characters, Def Leppard’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction and redemption, the Detroit Tigers’ Miguel Cabrera blaming others for his lack of home runs, and the passing of the legend inside the Chewbacca suit, Peter Mayhew.
